P erth has the climatic pattern of hot, dry summers and relatively mild winters which is often described as Mediteranean. One of the long-term projects of Peacetree Permaculture and Edible Landscapes is to gather data on species of plants and animals which are suitable for use within Permacultures in a Mediteranean climate. We will attempt to provide detailed information on a new tree, herb, vegetable and animal each month with a focus on species well adapted to Perth's climatic conditions.
